Our role as the Institute for Christian Practitioners

The Institute for Christian Practitioners (ICP) is an online training provider that offers Continuous Development (CPD) programmes and workshops.

The CPD programmes serve to enrich Christian religious practitioners and lead to vocational enhancement, as well as personal and professional development.

All programmes are offered online and bear CPD credits awarded by appropriate professional councils, namely the Council for Christian Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC) or Council for General Ministry Practitioners (CGMP).

CPSC and CGMP are specialist councils of the Association of Christian Religious Practitioners (ACRP), a newly registered professional body (registered by SAQA). The Association of Christian Religious Practitioners provides two kinds of services, namely professional body services and training support services.

The Association of Christian Religious Practitioners provides two kinds of services, namely professional body services and training support services.

These two groups of services are closely related: to be a professional assumes that the person was trained for the profession. With this in mind, ACRP’s mission statement (strategic focus) brings training and professionalisation together. ACRP

The Council for Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC)
